Our Amara cushion gives traditional ethnic design a modern twist. It's "face" side is based on imagery found in traditional African tribal art and has been interpreted with an intricately embroidered cord on a soft cotton fabric. The "reverse" side is a beautifully hand woven 100% raw silk fine stripe pattern in natural tones. This cushion is finshed with elegant piped surround. 
Like a human fingerprint, due to the very nature of its production, each cushion is unique. The natural slubs and variations of colour tone in the raw silk yarn add a naive charm. The fabric has been woven with traditional methods by skilled artisans on a hand loom, this we believe breathes a living soul into the cushion. Natural slubs in the yarn combine with an un-uniform weave to give the cushion an "imperfect" elegance. A characteristic that is all to often lost in the modern world due to standardised sterile manufacturing processes. There is nothing imperfect about how this cushion has been made though: exquisite attention to detail has been used in the stitching of this cushion which is finished to the highest standard. This cushion is designed by us and exclusive to our store. We pride ourselves on the quality of our cushions. All are hand made, the fabrics are overlocked to avoid fraying and have discreet zips that are colour co-ordinated to the cushion.
